Puss - Clinic Cat
Hi I am Puss, the clinic cat. I started life as a stray that came in to the clinic a number of years ago. Whilst the clinic looked after me for a short time (as part of the cat adoption program) they were able to find me a home with a loving and caring man who spoilt me rotten. Recently my dad passed away and I was again made homeless, until the Essendon Vet Clinic decided to allow me to become their practice manager/resident cat, where I shall live out the remainder of my life. Being only 4 years old, I have a long life to live and enjoy.

Dr Seina Capp - Veterinarian BVSC (Hons)
I graduated from University of Melbourne in 1993 and spent several years in mixed animal practice in rural Victoria, where I gained a great deal of experience in many different species. On any one day I could be doing surgery on a galah, visiting a local ostrich farm and then working at the horse races at night. Once returning to Melbourne I completed a post graduate course in small animal surgery, this is a special interest of mine. I have been with the dedicated team at Essendon Veterinary Clinic for 4 ½ years now. I have 2 beautiful girls and a cat named Charlie, I am currently in the process of renovations and both my girls are very excited at the promise of a puppy once works are completed.
Dr Ashleigh Long - Veterinarian
Ashleigh Long has recently joined Essendon Veterinary Clinic to help out since the local baby boom. Ashleigh graduated 4 years ago from the University of Melbourne and since then has worked in East Doncaster and in Gawler, South Australia.
She has two mischievous kids in the form of a Jack Russel Terrier and a domestic short haired cat. Although this results in a very chaotic household, she wouldn't have it any other way and everyone gets along great. The only arguments are over who gets which bed!
Ashleigh has an interest in all animals great and small, but particually loves cats and their medical ailments. She has really enjoyed the last 6 months working with the friendly skilled staff at Essendon and the wonderful clientel.
Penny Costello - Head Veterinary Nurse
Penny started with Essendon Vet Clinic in November 2009. She completed her Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing in 2009 and has recently started her Certificate IV which she expects to complete by late 2011.
Penny has always had a passion for animal care and feels lucky to be doing a job she loves so much. She is looking forward to owning her own house so she can get a dog for her cat Sasha to play with.
Simone Horton ACVN - Veterinary Nurse
Simone was born and went to primary school in Endeavour Hills before moving to Wonthaggi and completing her VCE in 1995. She then completed her Certificate in Animal Care a year later and finished her Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Nursing in 1999. She worked at the Bundoora Vet Clinic and Emergency Centre for 4 years before travelling around Australia for 8 months. While away, she worked at a practice in Darwin for two months where she got her first experience in working with wildlife and reptiles. Since returning, Simone worked at our sister practice in Carlton for one and a half years before joining the team at Essendon Vet Clinic.
Her areas of special interest are surgical and wildlife nursing. She currently holds a shelter license to care for sick and injured wildlife and completed her Certificate in Wildlife Care and Management in 2004. Simone also enjoys mentoring the other nursing staff through their studies.
Simone and her husband Wade bought a house on 3¼ acres of land near Whittlesea a few years ago and love living there with their pets, which include a dog, 3 cats, 1 friendly cockatiel and many other aviary birds, 1 lizard and 1 very friendly (but bossy) cow.
Rebecca Rolfe - Veterinary Nurse

Rebecca has put her studies on hold so she can enjoy motherhood. Apart from her son Riley, Rebecca is also proud parent to numerous 4 legged children including dogs, cats, rabbits and a ferret. Adam completed his Certificate II in Animal Studies (surgical nursing) as well as the Hills Nutritional Advocate Certificate in 2009 and is now looking to further his career in the veterinary industry by taking on further studies in science.

Shelley the Clinic Cat - In Memoriam
Shelley, our wonderful friend of 18 years, kept us company at the clinic and enjoyed lots of hugs from both our team and our clients. Shelley lived quite a peaceful life and rarely asked for anything (except when any of us had a really nice lunch). Shelley sadly passed away in April 2008 and she will be greatly missed.
